The Newport International Boat Show (NIBS), one of the largest and most prestigious boat shows in the country, spans thirteen acres of Newport, Rhode Island’s famed downtown waterfront. Special events, educational seminars and hands-on training courses for the whole family are offered throughout the show days, including the world-renowned Newport For New Products (NFNP) program which showcases new boat and boating products making their official United States debut.

CONFIDENT CAPTAIN – AT THE HELM TRAINING PRESENTS: NEWPORT INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW HANDS-ON BOATING COURSES

Take the helm of a powerboat or sailboat with a professional USCG-licensed captain who will lead you through engaging lessons and strategies to help improve your confidence and ability and make your time on the water fun. All experience levels are welcome. You will never feel pressured to buy a boat because Confident Captain instructors are professional captains, not boat salesmen. The courses are offered all four days of the Newport Boat Show for both powerboat and sailboat, and are open to all boat show attendees. The ship will be dockside at Perry Mill Wharf (walking distance from the show site and across the street from the Red Parrott restaurant) during show days and hours and is open for tours to anyone with a boat show wristband.

AVOID TRAFFIC – FERRY SERVICE NOW OFFERED FROM POINTS NORTH AND SOUTH
If you are coming from points south – park in Jamestown, RI and take the Jamestown/Newport Ferry to the boat show. The ferry drops off and picks up at Perrotti Park which is walking distance to the show. For schedule and fares visit: jamestownnewportferry.com/schedules/2017-fall-operating-schedule/.

This year’s show includes a powerful line-up of new boats and products making their US debut, and for some- their world premiere. As you walk the Show, look for NFNP decals and balloons identifying each entry. The current line-up of NFNP entries is now on our website, click here to begin charting your course at the Show.

The 2017 official charitable partner of the Show is Sail To Prevail. The organization creates opportunities for disabled children and adults to overcome adversity through therapeutic sailing. For over 30 years, Sail To Prevail has served more than 19,000 disabled individuals across the country with primary locations in Nantucket and Cambridge, Massachusetts, and Newport, Rhode Island. Attendees can stop by their booth located in Tent A, Booth 42 to meet the staff and learn more about their important mission.
